Was on the bus home earlier when I saw this fragile old couple (probably in their late sixties ir early seventies). Both husband and wife were carrying one big plastic bag each filled with groceries, and when it was time for them to get off the bus, the wife helped the old man to carry his plastic bag, and the man helped her to get off the bus.
I couldn't help but smile to myself as I looked at them. Indeed, a sudden wave of sentimentalism gushed over me. I wondered to myself, how satisfying and fulfilling it may be to have one person stand by you through the years- sorta like your soulmate- the one constant in your life, someone you can grow old with.
Now wouldn't that be perfect?
Of course it would be. But the fact remains that I stepped out of the bus and back into the fucked up reality of my life. Lol.
